"It's just not a good time for us to have our third meeting right now"

"North Korea has no intention of harming the U.S. and Kim Jong Un has made this clear to Trump", reaffirmed Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader, underlining that the nations' relations remain peaceful.
Last month, Foreign Minister Ri Son Gwon accused the Trump administration of breaking promises from the initial summit, including not easing sanctions, while claiming Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was exhibiting "gangster-liked behavior".
Since the first Trump-Kim summit two years ago, relations between the U.S. and North Korea have come with a mix of criticism and friendly overtones from Pyongyang.
The U.S. has yet to request another meeting with North Korea, Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegen said Wednesday, during his trip to South Korea and Japan, attempting to revive denuclearization negotiations that began two years ago when Kim Jong Un and Trump first met.
"Given the differences in opinion between the two countries, it wouldn't be beneficial or necessary for the two sides to meet unless there is a decisive change in the U.S. stance toward North Korea", Kim Yo Jong said, according to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Kim Yo Jong also said she had received permission from her brother to request DVDs of America's Fourth of July celebrations from last week. "I'm trying to personally obtain DVDs on U.S. Independence Day events from now on, and I've also gotten approval from the Chairman for that", she reportedly said.

Mayor of South Korean capital found dead after leaving "sorry" note

Seoul - People pay their respects to the late Mayor of Seoul, Park Won-soon, at a memorial in the South Korean capital on July 10, 2020. The three-term mayor of South Korea's sprawling capital city was found dead early Friday morning in mountains north of Seoul.
City officials said he left a short "will-like" message apologizing to his family and the Korean people just days after reportedly being accused of sexual misconduct by a former secretary.
Police launched a search for Mayor Park Won-soon early Thursday evening after his daughter reported him missing.
Hundreds of police officers used sniffer dogs and drones in the seven-hour search for Park, focusing on the mountains north of Seoul where his cell phone signal was last detected. His body was found late Thursday night on Mount Bugak. Police have not commented on the cause of his death.
A photo provided by the government of Seoul shows a note left by Mayor Park Won-soon at his official residence hours before his body was found on the mountain outside the South Korean capital, on July 9, 2020.
Before Park was elected mayor in 2011, he was a human rights lawyer. He rose to national political prominence in the years since, becoming a popular progressive, with feminist beliefs, and even being discussed as a possible presidential candidate.
